(More customer reviews)I bought this baby kimono along with several others for my newborn. Although I really like the neutral color and the material, I don't think it is a well-thought-out product. First of all, the product ties on (which I did not realize) and the ties are always coming undone. Second, there is really nothing tying the area around the baby's lower belly area so it is just left open (which is not a good thing when you are trying to keep your baby warm at night). Lastly, and most importantly, I am worried about the position of the top tie. I think a baby could potentially pull on the tie and strangle itself. Babies have a grip reflex and my baby took a hold of that tie and just pulled and pulled. Thank goodness the tie was undone at the time because if it had not loosened, he may have putted it into a knot around his neck. In any case, I did not use this product after the first time that I put it on my baby and discovered these problems. I have considered cutting off the ties and replacing them with snap on buttons (like those on the other baby kimonos I purchased) but I have not gotten around to that yet. This manufacturer should consider correcting this garment in that way. I would not buy another kimono with these types of ties. It may be dangerous. This is only my opinion. Perhaps someone should test this product to determine whether it is safe.
